Effects of Aging

Some of these effects come naturally,

others may be caused by lifestyle choices made throughout our lives.  Some are innate and we have done nothing in terms of prevention for those conditions.

  • Increased susceptibility to infection, heat stroke or hypothermia

  • Menopause for women & andropause for men

  • Decrease in height & bone density

  • Changes in skin, hair & teeth

  • Hearing loss, cataracts & vision problems

  • Chronic disease such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia

  • Depression and cognitive decline

  • Reduced sexual function & fertility

  • Osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

  • Slowed metabolism, back & neck pain

  • Atherosclerosis, osteoporosis

  • High blood pressure, cancer, hypertension & Alzheimer’s
